Quiet GiversThe holiday season, from Thanksgiving until the end of the year is usually a
time when people's generosity becomes more evident. It has blessed me so much this past year to see a dramatic increase
in giving---not only financial gifts, but other gifts as well. We have had people bring in produce that they have grown
in their gardens, farmers have donated eggs or meat, sportsmen have given fish or game, and people who love to bake have brought
all sorts of baked treats. Individuals and families have donated of their time, which is a truly precious commodity!
A Navy Veteran had recently spent many, many hours volunteering his time here while he waits to be able to find a new job.
A culinary arts student decided to intern here---where he cannot be paid---instead of at a restaraunt, where he could have
fulfilled intern hours as well as earn some money. I have also been humbled by the monetary donations that have
been coming in. We try to be as fiscally responsible as possible, stretching every penny as far as we can (I am amazed
at what we do on an annual budget of around $140,000!), but as it is for everyone else, our monthly bills keep on coming,
so every donation truly makes a huge difference! Merry Christmas, and may the Gift of Hope, Jesus Christ, fill your
hearts with His love this season!
