So, now what? This past Monday, we were served an eviction notice, stating that we are to be
out of our current location by the end of the month, due to the Madden Hotel (the building in which we currently rent space)
being sold to the City of Glens Falls. People have been asking us variations on the theme of "So, now what?"
Simple, understandable question---but one that unfortunately does not have a simple answer. Right now, we are continuing
to work on the process of wading through the bureaucratic entanglement involved with our preferred "new" facility.
However, even though we have been working very hard on this for well over a year, we are not yet at a point where we can finalize
all that needs to be done to get into that facility by the beginning of next month. Three local churches have generously
offered to let us use their facilities for 2-3 weeks if if we find ourselves to be "homeless." While this
is incredibly generous, we feel that it would be extremely inconvenient for all parties concerned, and would prefer not to
have to discommode the churches if at all possible. More than anything, as we go through this time of transition, we
want to ensure that the needs of those we serve are met. There are so many hurting people who need a helping hand, and
through a variety of means, we have been able to help them---many people being ones who do NOT come and eat here on a regular
basis, but who have gotten food and aid through a massive distribution setup that is able to care for the needs of the working
people who make "too much" to receive assistance. Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we seek
God's wisdom, guidance, and protection as we walk through this time of uncertainty.
