Update - Partnership Shelter and Emergency Preparedness Training

To all members of the faith community in the Greater Adirondack Region:

I encourage you to work together with us to help us respond more quickly to Disaster Situations in our region.  Disaster Tip Sheets for U.S. Religious Leaders and other related links can be found by clicking:  Adirondack Emergency Community Chaplains. Please check this site out for legal and other practical advice to consider having your faith community work with us in this effort.

We welcome members of the Ogdensburg Diocese and ask for their and your help to identify clergy and faith fellowships which are willing to be a resource for disaster aid. If you know of any clergy in the 12 counties of the Adirondack Region who may be open to consider participating, please pass this information on. We can be contacted at:  "Adirondack Emergency Community Chaplains" aecc.ny@gmail.com.

Thank you,

Rev. Chaplain Bruce Hersey, Chaplain Coordinator

****Please help pass the following information on!****

The Adirondack Emergency Community Chaplains and the American Red Cross Adirondack Saratoga Chapter,  North Country Chapter and The Salvation Army are working together to develop Partnership Shelter and Emergency Preparedness Training opportunities for all interested parties in the area.

These trainings and information will assist in preparing the community to respond to disasters in our area and help others fleeing from disaster in their area.

These workshops can be made available to any group wishing to know more about sheltering and preparedness - both community and personal.

The American Red Cross, the Adirondack Emergency Community Chaplains, and Salvation Army are also working on finding strategic places for the distribution of food and clothing. Red Cross does not get involved with used clothing but will work with groups that do in order to better serve the community. Housing in a disaster would initially be a shelter but eventually in transitioning people back to their homes or to a new place to live.

The American Red Cross, the Adirondack Emergency Community Chaplains, and Salvation Army work closely with all community groups and agencies.
