I'm a 61 year-old woman that has often wondered, "Why me?"
I lost a son when he was 4 months old, have had heart bypasses, a pacemaker put into my heart, destructful marriage, a daughter
in prison, and a family who think that life is meaningless. I guess my awakening came about 4 years ago, when I moved
to this area. I was feeling very lonely and useless (especially with constant physical problems), lost, and without
purpose.
Someone mentioned this place called The Open Door, and that I should stop in and meet Director Bruce
Hersey. In very little time, my life started to change. Director Hersey introduced me to Pastor Jeff Wood, and
between the two of them and The Open Door, I became part of a bigger family--my family in God--and my life felt like it had
purpose again. I spent a lot of time at The Open Door, and not only was able to feel better about myself, but was able
to help other people, too.
Know that if there were more places like The Open Door, many more people could be saved.
