Glens Falls Code Blue
Glens Falls Code Blue provides emergency overnight shelter to homeless people in the Greater Glens Falls Area.
A Code Blue night is called when the forecast is for a temperature of 32 degrees or lower (including wind chill) or at least 12 inches of precipitation.
LocationCurrently, Code Blue does NOT have a home for the 2017-2018 winter season. The previous locations where it was hosted are no longer available.
The GOOD NEWS? Through the generosity of donors, we were able to purchase a location downtown on Warren Street, which will become the new home for all of The Open Door services to the community.
Phase I of renovations are needed immediately to focus on the Code Blue shelter portion of the new building so we have a home to open it in on November 15th. We need your help to make this happen. Please consider giving generously, today.
We are looking for volunteers to help out at the Code Blue Shelter in the following ways:
- filling shifts at the shelter when we're open
- providing meals for Code Blue guests on the days the Open Door Kitchen is closed
- If you would like to volunteer at the shelter, email email@example.com . There is MANDATORY training for all volunteers and staff. We are in need of volunteers to fill shifts at the Code Blue shelter and to provide meals for Code Blue.
